RE: What is the main advantg / disadvantg of 4 down vs a dolly

If you trade toads frequently, then your assumptions are correct. The downside is the extra work required to fasten the car down to the dollie. We use two diff toads and prefer the dollie for the flexibility it gives us.

RE: If it ain't broke......Propane stove

Are you saying that the spark ignitor continues to spark after the burner comes on? If so, you may have broken one of the spark swiches when messing with the wiring. Each burner has a spark switch mounted on the burner valve.. each has two wires going to it. Check to see if one of the wires pulled off or if the wire broke.

How much effort does it take to be safe? Do you drive without seatbelts fastened?

RE: Vehicle Tow

What make and model vehicle do you want to tow. Some can be towed 4 down, others on dollies and others require major mods to be towed

RE: Towing the untowable

Before you invest about $3,000 for pump, base plates, hitch, light kit and brake buddy, I would seriosly consider a tow dolly that you can use again when you trade your van in.

RE: leveling jack that will not retract

If the resorvor has too much fluid in it, jacks will not retract properly. Fluid levels should always be checked with jacks in retract mode. Try loosening your resorvor cap and then retract your jacks.

RE: all 3 batteries dead??

How long has the mh been sitting... is it on shore power? Batteries do drain down if not hooked to shore. You may just need to recharge them. have you checked them with a volt meter? You can also check the cells with a hydrometer... if they check ok, the batteries should take a charge.
make sure someone didn't switch your battery disconnect switch at your front door if you have one.

RE: Propane tanks in Class A RV's....

Class A's normally have one non-removable 30-35 gal tank. My local propane supplier refills my mh at their pump. Also buy at flying J or a local U-Haul retail rental store

RE: BIGFOOT OUT OF BUSINESS

I believe they are shutting down mfg ops to adjust inventories. I read that Monaco has 172 days worth of finished rv/mh's already built. This is way above the already high industry average of 132 days on hand. I suspect others will be shutting down mfg ops to get these inventories down.

RE: camp ground that alow 36ft 5th wheel

from their web-site......"It is recommended that people driving recreational vehicles over 30' make a reservation since there are a limited number of campsites over 30' available in Yellowstone. Large RV sites are located at Flagg Ranch, Fishing Bridge RV Park, West Yellowstone and Gardiner."
If you need elect/water, go to fishing bridge... they can handle big rigs even though all sites are very close together.

RE: Gas prices!!!

Didn't go anywhere this summer due to diesel prices... figured it cost me $.60/ mile. Made a trip last month and paid $3.03 for diesel... I was so thrilled... now it's $2.49.... $.31/mile. Trying to decide where I'm going next week and the week after and after... Winter RVing will be great!

RE: Bait and Switch

I notice they are a member of Arizona Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds and Camp Club USA. I would write them a letter also.
I agree on RVPARKREVIEWS.com
If you have never posted a review there, I think you have to write three before they will post them. Write a couple of good reviews on different parks and then unload on them.

RE: 1991 Encounter won't start - Dead chassis battery?

Shore power does not charge chassis batteries. You need to jump start the engine. I assume you do not have a boost switch on the dash. Use a volt meter to check the voltage on the three batteries... the one showing the lowest volts is most likely your chassis battery. If you stay parked for long periods of ime, buy a small trickle charger to keep your chassis batteries ready to go.
